A facility’s upkeep and maintenance is one of the biggest factors we look at. “We want to know if a facility is clean and organized, if flammable liquids and hazardous chemicals are stored properly, if they have appropriate waste receptacles for used materials like oily rags, and if fire extinguishers are readily available,” said Chris Parrillo.

Joyn’s insurance offerings provide great opportunities for auto repair businesses. In addition to General Liability, Supported Excess, and Property coverage, Joyn also offers several special coverages that can benefit auto repair shops, including equipment breakdown and employee benefits.

In many instances, Joyn’s auto repair classes can work in tandem with other class codes that Joyn offers, like convenience stores, gas stations, and car washes.

“Auto repair shops come with a number of key risk characteristics,” said Chris Parrillo, Head of Small Business Underwriting and Loss Control at Joyn. “With customers sitting in their shops and walking around while waiting for their vehicles to be serviced, there can be increased risks of slips and falls on the premises. Additionally, if one of the vehicles experiences a mechanical failure, it can increase fire hazards within the facility.” Because of these risks, Parrillo said that one of the biggest factors that Joyn looks at, is a facility’s upkeep and maintenance.

“We want to know if a facility is clean and organized, if flammable liquids and hazardous chemicals are stored properly, if they have appropriate waste receptacles for used materials like oily rags, and if fire extinguishers are readily available,” he said. “Depending on the building construction, we might also look for sprinklers and make sure there are designated waiting areas to limit risk to customers.”

We built Joyn to remove the pain points that commercial trading partners experience all too frequently, providing a faster, more accurate, and more transparent insurance experience that saves time, costs, and frustration.
