Spotlight Series: Meet Duy Vo

Before coming to Joyn, Duy worked in operations in the cryptocurrency industry, where he developed standard operating procedures, metric-based decisioning, and cross-functional analyses. He thrives in a startup environment where he feels that he can make a greater impact compared to a larger company.

While a lot of my background and experience is in the financial technology world, many of the companies in that industry are startups that face similar issues as Joyn does now, and they have a similar mentality to Joyn’s. I have found that I thrive in that kind of environment, and I’ve always enjoyed working in smaller startups where I can make a greater impact.

As the newest Operations Specialist on Joyn’s Operations Team, Duy Vo engages with Joyn’s Product, Underwriting, and Distribution teams to continually improve ease of business both internally and externally by enhancing Joyn’s systems and processes. Duy also plays a crucial role in delivering Joyn’s one-of-a-kind experience to its customers and brokers by ensuring the whole team has everything they need at their fingertips.

Before coming to Joyn, Duy worked in operations in the cryptocurrency industry, where he developed standard operating procedures, metric-based decisioning, and cross-functional analyses. Duy also earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University.

How do you stay current on all of the trends and information that helps you be successful in your role?

Operations at its heart is always about emphasizing process improvements, whether it’s concepts or tools. So in this role, staying current means looking at the newest vendors coming out to see if they can improve our processes and following the latest tech innovations to see if there is an opportunity to incorporate them or if we should begin thinking about incorporating them at a later date.

What do you enjoy when you’re not helping to improve Joyn’s operations?

I enjoy reading up on technology news and love discussing wealth management. I really love learning, finding new challenges, and trying new things.
