The mission, vision, and values of Joyn Insurance put transformation of the insurance industry front and center

When we decided to build a company that would transform the insurance industry, we kept coming back to two key words in our initial planning phases: “joy” and “join.”

Our mission is a simple one: to transform insurance into a joyful experience.

When we decided to build a company that would transform the insurance industry, we kept coming back to two key words in our initial planning phases: “joy” and “join.” Join, of course, means to unite, connect, or bring together to form a unit. Joy means delight, gladness, or the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune.

So we brought the two words together to create “Joyn,” a portmanteau that we define as a type of collective happiness. It’s the feeling of delight that occurs when the right pieces—brokers, insureds, clients, partners, vendors, and team members—come together to achieve our common goal of revolutionizing the commercial insurance industry by delivering—and expecting—better experiences.

Our mission, vision, and values are built around this concept and designed to provide us the structure to achieve it. Our mission is a simple one: to transform insurance into a joyful experience. Our vision—how we will achieve the mission—is to bring together data, technology, and expertise to create a transparent and trusted insurance experience. And our values—the guiding principles that guide us in our decision making and how we run the company—are designed to keep us honest to that mission and vision.

Joyn’s values are five-fold.

  • Build impactful experiences. Our technology, products and teams are built to be powerful, innovative and results-oriented.
  • Exceed expectations. By constantly thinking about your needs and solving for tomorrow’s problems, we’re establishing strong relationships and creating future opportunity.
  • Break the mold. We’re not afraid to ask why — we believe that thinking boldly, not sticking to the status-quo, helps everyone grow.
  • Do the right thing. In an unpredictable world, you can always expect us to do the right thing, from how we build and grow our teams to how we give back to our community.
  • Find joy. We love what we do and who we do it with. We find joy in learning, listening, teaching and innovating, together, to create a joyful insurance experience.

We set out to find new ways to solve old problems, creating technology that deliver best-in-class experiences, using data and expertise to make better decisions, and make the insurance experience more authentic, efficient, and trustworthy.

We know that “joy” isn’t necessarily the first word that comes to mind when you go searching for an insurance partner. But we also know that with the right mission, vision, and values underpinning who we are and who we want to be, we can change that perception.

That’s exactly what we’re doing.
