Bobby Gagnon, one of Joyn’s newest Broker Relationship Leaders, has more than 25 years of experience at top rated life, property, and casualty insurance companies in management and sales. In his role at Joyn, Bobby will engage with our broker partners, developing strong and trusted relationships based on data insights and meaningful connection.

Bobby comes to Joyn with a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics. Most recently, Bobby was with American Family Insurance for nearly a decade, where he focused on business development, strategy planning, product analysis, and field leadership. He has also held positions with Church Mutual, Prudential, and American National.

Reflecting his deep expertise within the insurance industry, Bobby has earned many industry designations and accreditations, including Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI), and Certified Personal Risk Manager (CPRM). He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Augusta University and is a former D1 collegiate athlete. He also serves as a board member to a variety of government and nonprofit organizations within his community.

What drew you to the insurance industry?

I found insurance to be a good fit because while a lot of the business side of it is about risk, so much of the day to day for a role like mine is about people and relationships. I’ve always been passionate about connecting, nurturing, and building lasting relationships with people of all backgrounds. I really enjoy helping people and being there for those in need. And because of that, I’ve made a great career out of being there for people when they need it most and helping to ensure that their dreams are protected.

What excites you about Joyn?

You can’t underestimate the energy that comes with working at an insurtech startup like Joyn, and for someone like me I’m excited about the opportunity to work with the dynamic team that the company has built, the ability to wear multiple hats, and to really learn about new areas. Joyn is the only insurance company I’ve ever worked for where I’ve met and had conversations with everyone in the company, which is a pretty fantastic experience. And the ability to deliver services that are more like an “Admitted Carrier” is certainly unique and something that E&S Brokers haven’t experienced. I’m really looking forward to sharing what we are doing with more and more brokers because Joyn’s approach to simplify and improve the E&S experience is where this market is heading and Joyn is leading the way.

Where are people most likely to find you outside of work?

I love helping others, coaching and mentoring people, and really doing anything outdoors. Whether it’s travel, gardening, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, biking, or anything else, I love observing and absorbing the beauty of nature.
