Tell us about your role at Joyn. What will you be responsible for?
At Joyn, I will be utilizing my knowledge of the insurance industry to underwrite a profitable book of business and advise the company on strategies. My in-depth understanding of the distribution and underwriting processes in small commercial E&S insurance will help Joyn succeed in the small commercial insurance and middle market insurance spaces. In the past, I’ve also had the opportunity to participate in multiple “start-ups” where I’ve developed skills in strategic development, allowing me to bring Joyn’s visions to life. With an interest in new technologies like predictive modeling and the use of third-party data in the underwriting process, I’m excited about the tech-enabled insurance focus that Joyn is built around and I’m ready to work with the team to drive change in the commercial insurance industry.
What attracted you to Joyn?
I was attracted to Joyn because I love trying new things and tackling challenges. I appreciate how Joyn is promoting and capitalizing on advances in the insurance industry, and I wanted to be a part of the changing underwriting landscape. Joyn’s idea of seamlessly integrating insurance and technology to create a better way of providing insurance and a better experience for clients and customers is long overdue and seeing the tech platforms that they’ve put together in action is truly amazing. In addition, Joyn has a great culture of learning and collaboration along with experienced and talented insurance and technology professionals which I believe will enable us to continue building a great company!
Tell us about your interests outside of Joyn.
Outside of work, I enjoy family time with my wife, Megan, and daughter, Anna. I am also a dog lover and spend a lot of time walking and playing with my adopted Beagle/Basset Hound mix named Carl. My family and I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina a few years ago, so we still enjoy exploring new areas and attractions around the city and state. We especially love to spend time outdoors in the Blue Ridge mountains during the summer. I am originally from New Jersey, so I love to root for New York Yankees and New York Giants. If I’m near a casino, you can also probably catch me playing some Texas Hold’em poker.
