Joyn Insurance’s conceptual framework started out with a pretty simple question: how can we find new ways to solve old problems? In other words, when getting commercial insurance, why does it take weeks after a submission to hear back? Why can’t all policies be issued at binding? Why isn’t it standard practice to share data?
To answer these and other questions, we built a team of insurance professionals, data scientists, technologists, and product experts. We’re working collaboratively to solve serious, tough, persistent problems and we know that doing so requires a diversity of thought, culture, and experience.
Our brand identity, similarly, reflects how we approach and answer these questions. If we’re going to do things differently, we need to have a different look and feel.
Our icon, a two-toned chevron, was designed to resemble a heart because making insurance a joyful experience is, at its most basic level, who we are. It also symbolizes our openness, as we are inviting people to come in or come to us. It conveys that we care deeply about the customer experience, a sentiment that the heart brings front and center.
It’s deliberately two-toned, because the joining of two colors represents the diversity of thought, experience, and culture that is part of our DNA. And graphically, the offset heart to the left of the word “Joyn” appears as if it’s floating, which gives an uplifting feeling – one of hope, happiness and joy.
We also chose our color palette with much deliberation and great intentionality, as color is one way we can visually convey our passion and joy to the marketplace. In an industry that has been traditionally dominated by starkly red and blue color schemes, we chose Deep Pink, Pale Pink, and Bright Blue as our primary colors as a nod to the industry’s history. And our secondary colors of Teal and Sky Blue are used to add contrast and brightness to the palette. Just as we have a deep history in this industry, our color palette is also rooted – but with a fresh and modern take.
Joyn’s values include building impactful experiences, breaking the mold, and finding joy. Our brand visuals were created to directly reflect those values.
